Accounting specialization

New government regulations, greater scrutiny of corporate finances, and business growth have fueled the need for accounting professionals with deep knowledge of the important role accounting information plays in corporate decision making. Capella's MBA Accounting specialization will expand your knowledge in areas such as planning and controlling organizational budgets; auditing and evaluating computerized accounting information systems; accounting for a variety of business entities, including multinational organizations; using accounting information for decision making; and analyzing, documenting, and reporting financial results. This specialization is also designed to help you build the strategic perspective you need to interact effectively with executive management and strengthen your ability to succeed in middle and senior management positions. People who pursue this specialization are often pursuing supervisory or management positions in accounting, auditing, and other financial recording and reporting functions.

The requirements for this specialization are not designed to prepare graduates for licensure as accountants.

MBA - Accounting degree

November 24, 2010Jason As with any new experience, a person may feel overwhelmed when looking at the big picture. I know I was nervous starting my MBA-Accounting program because I had no experience with online learning in my prior education, but I knew that Capella was the right fit for me with managing my time between family, work, and school. The professors, advisors, financial aid customer support, tech support, and librarians, as well as the fellow learners, were very helpful and very responsive to any inquiries, comments, or concerns I had throughout my coursework. I just completed my MBA-Accounting degree and am glad I chose Capella for its flexible schedule that worked with my personal life, and the ability to immediately apply the course concepts and skills into my professional career.

Through research I learned, that other top schools like Boston, Yale and Cornell University also offer online courses and programs. Currently, I’m a 2nd year MBA student specializing in Accounting and Finance. Experience and research has thoroughly convinced me, that Capella University is an excellent institution to learn, lead, serve and grow from. Clearly the process of raising one's level of thinking depends solely on oneself. What you put in, is what you get out. That said Capella provides the ingredients for success.
