Terry Tirrito, PhD

Social Work Educator of the Year

“I learn from my students as they respond to discussions from their own cultural perspectives, and enjoy using Capella’s outstanding technology to teach courses.”

Dr. Tirrito started at Capella as an adjunct faculty member in 2008 and now teaches in the School of Public Service Leadership’s department of social work. She also serves as a dissertation mentor and committee chair. Dr. Tirrito is also an accomplished researcher who has won awards for her work and has been published in a number of books, journals, and research studies. Before joining Capella, she taught at a number of institutions and was the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at the University of South Carolina.
