Eileen O’Mara, EdD

Licensed drug and alcohol counselor

“Educating counselors about addiction is my passion. Expanding addiction counseling to my students who will, in turn, have a global impact on the lives of clients is exciting.”

Dr. O’Mara joined Capella in 2009 as a faculty member in the Harold Abel School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. She is currently holds the title of Professor Emerita at the Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies. Dr. O’Mara is the author of many journal articles and has been part of a national effort to improve education, training, and use of technology in addiction counseling education.
